Sound of Thunder is all over for another year. The new three-day format proved itself and we were treated to plenty of exciting close quarters racing. Most fields were in excess of 20 riders with the Superstock limited class peaking at 41.

The many old faces were joined by Sound of Thunder debutants who donned their leathers and rolled out their steads to experience best BEARS racing in the country.
Top performances came from the Scott Structural boys on their Triumph 675s. Dale Finch taking out the Hinkley & Formula one classes with Ashton Hughes very close behind. Ashton later went one better securing the Best of British Senior GP. The 12 lap GP was a thriller. Dale paced himself a few positions back from Ashton. His plan was to go late but when he started to push there was no tyre left and he was made to settle for second. Ashton also claimed the fastest lap of the meeting with a new BEARS F1 lap record of 1:32.374.

There were many other creditable performances throughout the weekend. From classics to the latest in BEARS machinery. Young gun Tyler Lincoln took out the Best of British Masters GP on a 1962 Norton Manx proving old bikes can be made to go fast too.

The new Formula two class attracted a big field and included a handful of the latest RS660 weapons from Aprilia. Interest in F2 is high with talk of new machines being built for 2026 when just maybe the dominant Triumph 675 might meet its match.
Plans are already in place to for next year's Sound of Thunder which will feature Grand Prix’s for European bikes. If you missed this year’s thriller, make sure you check it out in 2026!
