SOUND of Thunder is only 5 weeks away and this year we are doing a British theme. Part of that will be two premier races, the Best of British GPs. Both run on the Sunday, first up is the Master Grand Prix for British Triple & Fours manufactured before Dec 31,1996 plus all years British singles & twins. This will be run over 6 laps and caters for the older Tridents, Nortons, AJS, Matchless etc plus later twins like Norton 961, Bonnies & Thruxtons. $480 in prize money is up for grabs plus it will the third points race for the BOB classes. Already entered in this one is Scott Moir on Pete Lodges ES2 Norton. Always a crowd pleaser!
Next up is the Able Fabrication Senior Grand Prix for post 1996 British Triples & Fours. Expect it will be dominated by Triumph 675s with some of NZs top riders on board like Ashton Hughes and Dale Finch who always put on a show. Raced over 12 laps and with a $1000 up for grabs for just this one race. It also will count as a points race for the Hinkley class.
To be a part of the GPs all you have to do is enter one of the Best of British classes. BOB 0-750, BOB 751- Open or the Hinkley class for any Triumph manufactured after 1991.
As usual all other BEARS bikes will be catered for too with lots of classes and the opportunity to cross enter giving you tons of racing over the weekend. Also the Conti Cup for any bike on treaded tyres, the North South Challenge & Flying Farewell Invitational.
Remember too we are raffling off a brand new Triumph Speed 400 which will be presented to the lucky winner at the Sound of Thunder 2025. Tickets HERE
